Job Description

Support Office Engineer is a role which is diverse, dynamic and very challenging. A typical day may vary from one challenge to another at very specific points of the manufacturing process.

You will be working alongside the operations team personnel providing your engineering judgement and guidance to ensure processing of a highly complex processors and receivers in a timely manner against the expected lifecycle through manufacturing.
You will

• Act as the primary contact point in engineering for operations and assist in Typhoon radar production.
• Provide engineering thinking and guidance to enable meeting production output targets.
• Plan and conduct effective root cause/corrective action initiatives.
• Work hand in hand with project developing teams to ensure lessons learned are deployed at early lifecycle stages for future products along with DFx best practices.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge

• College Degree or Higher-level Qualification in Electronics or other Related Engineering Discipline
• Self-starting positive type personality capable of thriving under pressure and making timely decisions
• Excellent problem solving capability with demonstrated tenacity for understanding and delivering robust Root Cause and Corrective Action Plans
• Good understanding and much experience with respect to designing high performance products for series production
• Eligible for SC clearance for UK-caveated programmes.It would be great if you have
• Experience in a similar role, supporting production of complex electro mechanical systems.
• A background with experience working with RF or High Speed Digital technologies.
• RF experience but these roles primarily require engineers who are pragmatic self-starters who have a tenacity to solve problems and are able to think on their feet, making sensible, timely decisions

It’s a challenging role – you’re learning a lot about Radar systems and complex product manufacturing.

This is an Edinburgh-based role that requires a significant amount of on-site working.
