Project Manager – Job Description and Responsibilities

Job Overview:

The Project Manager oversees the planning, communication, leadership, and delivery of projects assigned to satisfy or surpass customer needs, budgets, and timelines. The job entails managing customer and internal team relationships, establishing and controlling project scope, and achieving successful delivery.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with Sales and Engineering to acquire knowledge of project scope, requirements, and budget.
  • Create comprehensive project plans with schedules and resource assignments.
  • Direct and drive cross-functional teams (Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing) to deadlines and budgets while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Act as lead customer contact, handling project status, scope change, and documentation.
  • Manage project costs and have accurate cost accounting.
  • Verify technical solutions are within project requirements and engineering standards.
  • Assist in account management and business development.
  • Develop detailed project documentation and reports.
  • Travel as required domestically and internationally.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project or account management in technical equipment manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Customer-oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of machine design.
  • Microsoft Office and Project proficiency; knowledge of SolidWorks desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to work in manufacturing settings.

Physical Requirements:

The ability to move safely within manufacturing environments, such as lifting a maximum of 25 lbs, standing or sitting for extended periods, and traveling as needed
