Purpose of the role –
As a part of the Service Team, this role will work on multiple service projects, ensuring successful delivery while adhering to agreed schedules within budget limits. The Project Engineer will be responsible from purchase order acceptance through to project close
Key Responsibilities –
- Act as a single point of contact while the project is on-going, ensuring that the customer is satisfied throughout the project.
- Have a good, in-depth understanding of the contractual requirements to be included in the handover and communicate these to the wider business.
- Define the program planning with high-level milestones, oversee overall progress, solve issues, and suggest corrective action if necessary; make sure that the deliverables of the project are on time, of good quality, and under budget; manage communications.
- Review payment schedules and advise the Accounts team regarding payments once requisite milestones during the design, build, and acceptance phases have been reached.
- Document the status of the monthly project on work, perform updates and take required actions to ensure that time and timelines are adhered to.
- Work with other internal groups to clearly identify high-risk elements of the project to ensure that successful delivery can be achieved.
- Work with the customer and internal teams to discuss changes to the initial specification.
- Keep in mind the commercial consequences of changes and co-ordinate and manage interface and work flow.
- Ensure that all changes made through project ECNs are incorporated using the software tools at one’s disposal in relation to the Internal Sales and Applications departments.
- Communicate with the end customer on costs and schedules impacting approval and initiation.
- Make sure that all relevant project documentation is produced accurately and issued according to the schedule defined for the project.
- Follow through the manufacturing process of components in the Factory and with sub-contract suppliers to ensure that delivery dates are met.
- Meeting the parts due date will ensure timely delivery targets are met.
- Solve component part manufacturing problems with team members, referring to senior management when necessary. Use own experience to provide innovative and creative solutions.
- Liaise with Operations regularly on progress, referring to assembly requirements as required to ensure smooth transition of work throughout the factory and achievement of required lead times.
- Work with all Mpac colleagues to ensure compliance with ISO14001, ISO9001 and OHSAS18001 and support a culture of Lean and Continuous Improvement by complying with appropriate Standard Operating Procedures. This will ensure that Mpac retains its accreditation and maintains its position as a provider of high-quality service and that its employees are working efficiently and safely.
- Work with all Mpac colleagues to ensure that our internal customer ethos is delivered and maintained through everything we do including right first time, on time and in full.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Managerial experience in the handling of multiple production projects at one time.
- Experience in evaluating technical requirements and providing cleared feasible solutions.
- Commercially aware of the reasonably effective resource use, in order of scope change, and implications of choice.
- Excellent knowledge of communication with the power to communicate with any level of personnel, engaging the suitable means depending on the setting.
- Ability to be able to handle several projects at once, with Empire prioritizing qc-and-resolved demands.
- HNC, HND, or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Knowledgeable in the use of the MS Office Suite including MS Project.
- Very strong organizational and time management skills.
- Very good and open communication, verbal and written.
