In 2023, T&RS Engineering welcomed an exciting new phase by forming part of Rendel and Ingerop Group, then a major International Engineering Consultancy, and enriching and amplifying our technical competencies and scope of geographical work.
We have a fascinating opportunity where a Project Engineer is wanted to join the team in London, and for you, it’ll be delivering and overseeing a number of projects relating to the upkeep, repair, and engineering of traction and rolling stock fleets on behalf of our expanding customer base from within the UK rail sector.
In addition to serving as the project manager and delivering the engineering work packages as a team, the project engineer will report to the director of Engineering and Operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and delivering technical work in a defined/assigned project
- Optimization of maintenance and overhaul on fleets of traction & rolling stock
- Preparing of technical documentation and reports
- Attending meetings with clients and all other industry professionals at all levels;
- Maintaining a continuous exchange of communications with clients during the development and delivery of projects;
- Carrying out vehicle inspection of various rolling stock/plant equipment;
- Performing risk assessments and risk analysis on engineering change issues;
- Analyzing costs of maintenance, identifying proposals to increase performance to cost ratio;
- Carrying out tasks occasionally assigned by senior management
To scale the success of your effort, you will be having those qualifications, and you will be able to show experience and understanding about the following:
- Adept at planning, managing and delivering projects in accordance with timeline and budget allocation
- Ability to communicate and positively present oneself before peers and customers.
- Hands-on experience of rolling stock engineering and/or maintenance
- Expert technical report writing
- Experience in conducting process and production audits
- Experience in fleet engineering
- Knowledge of current rolling stocks and systems
- Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with a professional body (or working toward)
- Bachelor’s or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree with significant relevant experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with industry standards in the railway sector
