This is a great opportunity, joining our existing project teams working and supporting our Landing Gear work packages. You will work with a consultative approach while building strong relationships with our customers as a team, communicating with stakeholders at a variety of seniority levels, and provide a high standard of System Engineering.

Responsibility:

  • Delivering in line with commitments and reporting progress.
  • Ensuring compliance to follow-up processes and development of suitable systems in response to product requests.
  • Interfacing with stakeholders (Certification Specialists and Technical Signatories) on compliance to certification requests, processes and methodologies.
  • Equipment re-qualification concerning new aircraft weight variants and the introduction of new tyres/brakes/wheels.
  • Supporters of budget and timetable adherence for each activity manage and avoid risks and opportunities and communicate and follow up on these in reasonably good time.
  • Designing and optimizing aircraft wheels, tires, and brakes focusing mainly on the weight, durability, and performance of such systems.
  • Choosing appropriate materials to build wheels, tires & brake components to ensure safety and performance.
  • Ensuring qualitative material and components supplied on time by incorporating inputs from suppliers.
  • Perform performance analysis to prove that wheels, tires & brakes fulfill operational requirements and pass all categorical regulatory standards.
  • Perform extensive testing and validation of new components to prove reliability, toughness and that they meet all industry standards.
  • Working closely with other engineering teams to develop wheels, tyres, & brake systems in such a way that ensures that the integration of the systems fits seamlessly into the overall aircraft design.
  • Define a robust system and procedure for effective fault detection and diagnosis in the wheel, tyre & brake components taking into consideration safety and reliability.
  • Maintain a meticulous set of design specifications, test procedures, and compliance records.
  • Undertake collaborations with the avionics, structural engineering, and other teams to ensure effective integration and operation of wheels, tires & brake systems.
  • Utilizing simulation and modeling tools analyse and optimize performance characteristics of wheels, tires, and brakes under different conditions.

Required Skills:

  • Basic awareness of Aircraft System Qualification & Certification.
  • Process optimisation and organisational skills.
  • Planning & reporting experience.
  • Project management experience is desired but not necessary.

Creating & analysing test cases from lab and flight test

  • Experience in writing technical specifications at both equipment & systems level.
  • Strong background in Systems Engineering, stakeholder management and equipment design
  • Experience in analysis of Functional Requirements Specification, Development of Technical Requirements Specification, creating Functional Validation Specification, conducting Integration, Validation testing, and V&V methodology.
  • Systems engineering, documentation (particularly DOORS, verification, integration, and validation), experience.
  • Experience in Aerospace (Landing Gear Systems).
  • Hydraulic systems associated with aircraft braking works proficiently.
  • A theoretical understanding of tyre material construction and its impact on the overall aircraft performance.

Experience in the use of one or more of the following would be advantageous: Catia V5, MSC ADAMS, MATLAB, Simulink or IBM DOORS.
